The Hidden Costs

A wrong classification costs more than you think.

Get a code wrong and the cost keeps climbing: back duty, interest, and an audit you have to defend, often years after the entry cleared.

Surprise duty bills

Landed cost gets discovered after the shipment leaves the dock, not before the quote goes out. Unexpected duty, taxes, and brokerage fees erode margin and create difficult client conversations.

Duty Taxes Margin risk

Shipments held

A missed PGA permit, sanctions hit, or agency requirement can stop the line at the border, adding storage costs and last-minute escalation before filing is fixed.

PGA Sanctions Delays

Audit reconstruction

When the CBSA verification letter or the CBP Form 28 arrives, your team has to rebuild the reasoning from memory, emails, and spreadsheets. That means deadline pressure, extra labor, and a weaker defense.

CBSA Rebuild work Audit pressure

Knowledge trapped

When the reasoning lives in one senior broker's head, consistency slips and training slows down. Critical know-how walks out the door with turnover or retirement.

AI Assists. Professionals Decide.

CustomsLogIQ is a compliance research and drafting platform, not an autonomous filing system. Brokers stay in control at every step, with the ability to review, challenge, approve, or override AI-generated outputs. The final decision and responsibility remain with the professional of record.

Every classification creates its own defensible compliance record.

CustomsLogIQ automatically documents the full classification decision path, including product data, GIR and GRI reasoning, rulings cited, headings reviewed and eliminated, broker approval, and timestamped activity. When CBSA or CBP asks for support, the compliance record is already complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CustomsLogIQ (CLIQ)?
CustomsLogIQ (CLIQ) is AI customs classification software that drafts 10 digit HS and HTS codes with full legal reasoning, screens 9 Canadian government agencies and the ACE Partner Government Agencies in the United States, calculates landed cost, and generates complete audit reports in under 60 seconds per classification. It covers Canada (HS, CARM, CBSA) and the United States (HTSUS, CBP), each against its own tariff, ruling corpus and regulatory data. CLIQ uses a human in the loop design: the AI drafts and reasons, the licensed broker reviews and decides. The AI never files autonomously.
How accurate is CLIQ's AI classification?
CLIQ applies the six interpretive rules systematically on every classification, the GIR in Canada and the GRI plus the Additional U.S. Rules of Interpretation in the United States, and cross references 1,115+ indexed CBSA advance rulings for Canada and 74,000+ CBP rulings for the United States. Unlike keyword based tools that pattern match product names to codes, CLIQ performs rule by rule legal analysis with the full reasoning chain shown so the broker can verify the logic, not just the code. The broker always makes the final call.
If the AI gets a classification wrong, who is liable?
The licensed broker or importer of record retains full liability, same as today. CLIQ is a research and drafting tool, not a filing system. Every classification goes through broker review before it can be used. The audit trail captures the AI's initial draft, the GIR reasoning, and the broker's final decision including any overrides with reasoning.
What does CLIQ's audit report include?
CLIQ's audit report contains the product description, the interpretive rules applied (GIR 1 through 6 in Canada, GRI plus the Additional U.S. Rules of Interpretation in the United States), all tariff headings considered and eliminated with reasoning, chapter and section notes cited, Explanatory Note references, advance rulings cross referenced, PGA screening results, sanctions check results, duty and tax calculation, FTA eligibility analysis, and the broker's approval or override with reasoning. Reports are exportable as PDF or CSV.
What is customs compliance monitoring?
Customs compliance monitoring is the ongoing process of checking whether previously filed HS classifications remain accurate as tariff schedules, advance rulings, duty rates, and regulatory requirements change over time. CLIQ performs this automatically on the Trade Compliance plan and up (Trade Compliance, Broker CRM, and Enterprise): every classification is rechecked each month against the current tariff schedule for its country, new CBSA and CBP rulings, and current duty rates. When a change affects an existing classification, CLIQ sends an alert with the specific change, the affected entries, and a recommended action.
Which countries does CLIQ support?
CLIQ supports Canada and the United States. Canadian classification runs against the 10 digit Canadian Customs Tariff with CBSA D-Memoranda, CBSA advance rulings, CARM and SIMA. U.S. classification runs against the 10 digit HTSUS with CBP rulings, U.S. Court of International Trade opinions, Informed Compliance Publications, and ACE Partner Government Agency requirements. Each country runs on its own tariff, its own rulings and its own agency requirements, in a separate database.
Can I run bulk HS code classification from commercial invoices, CSV, or Excel?
Yes. CLIQ handles commercial invoice HS classification and bulk CSV and Excel (XLSX) uploads, including full product catalogs. Every line item gets full compliance treatment: GIR and GRI reasoning, PGA screening across 9 Canadian agencies and the ACE Partner Government Agencies in the United States, sanctions check, duty calculation, FTA detection, and an individual audit trail. Batch sizes can reach thousands of line items per upload.
Is my classification data secure?
CLIQ uses TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit and maintains isolated databases per country. Classification data is never used for AI model training, never shared with third parties, and never accessible to other customer accounts. Enterprise clients can configure data residency and request a private instance. Security questionnaire responses are available on request.
How much does CLIQ cost?
CLIQ has five tiers. Free is free with signup: single, Vision and bulk classification, with 3 credits included each month that reset and do not stack, then $1 per credit. Credit Packs let you buy volume credits with no subscription ($100 for 110 credits at $0.91 each, up to $5,000 for 6,500 credits at $0.77 each, a 30% bonus) and unlock all classification types. Trade Compliance is $495 per month on a 12 month agreement, or $5,049 per year paid annually (save 15%), and adds compliance monitoring, audit and reporting, a team workspace, and priority support with 500 included credits. Broker CRM is $695 per month, or $7,089 per year paid annually, and adds full CRM with 700 included credits (coming soon). Enterprise is custom annual pricing and adds SSO, API, dedicated support, and custom volume. Purchased credits never expire and roll over forever.
Does CustomsLogIQ handle Canadian HS and U.S. HTS classification?
Yes. CustomsLogIQ handles both Canadian HS and U.S. HTS classification. For Canada it classifies to the 10 digit Canadian Customs Tariff, applies CBSA rules and D-Memoranda, cross references 1,115+ CBSA advance rulings, supports CARM, and screens 9 Canadian government agencies. For the United States it classifies to the 10 digit HTSUS, applies the General Rules of Interpretation and the Additional U.S. Rules of Interpretation, cross references 74,000+ CBP rulings and U.S. Court of International Trade opinions, and screens ACE Partner Government Agency requirements. A broker moving goods in either direction works from one screen.
