The sample submitted consists of a “face material” cut to an irregular shape (roughly 90 cm by 20-25 cm; "made-up") consisting of a thinner material (approximately 4 mm thick) stitched length wise to a much narrower piece of thicker material (approximately 6.0 mm thick). The materials consist of the following layers, which have been laminated and bonded together: a grey, cellular coating of plastics, a grey knitted fabric woven solely from yarns of man-made (polyester) fibres, a beige, cellular layer of plastics and a white fabric knitted solely from yarns of man-made (nylon) fibres. This sample can, without fracturing, be bent manually around a cylinder of a diameter of 7 mm, at a temperature between 15°C and 30°C.
