&&The products under review are Cover Plates P/N S19002. These items are small clear protective plates made of CR-39 Monomer material. CR-39 material is Columbia Resin 39, which is a plastic polymer commonly used in the manufacture of eyeglass lenses, which has a ultraviolet coating to protect eyes from harmful light. These plates are used with welding helmets, and are affixed to the front of helmets over top of the filter plates to help protect them from pitting and scratching during use. The dimensions of these rectangular plates are 2” High X 4” ¼ Wide and .056” Thick. They have a Refractive Index Value of 1.498, an Abbe Value of 59.3, and a Density of 1.31g/cm3. These plates meet ANSI Z87.1 Basic Impact Standards and Federal Specs GGG-H-211D.
